Question : |
What are 'Quarternions' ? |
Answer : |
If you do not use
the properties of order and the commutative law of multiplication,
we obtain an interesting further extension of the complex number
system known as Quarternions. |
Abbreviation : q.v. |
Quarternions
are of the form a + bi + cj + dk where a, b, c, d are real. |
This concept was first suggested by Sir William R. Hamilton in 1843. |
Quaternion operations are used widely in electrodynamics,
general relativity, and 3D graphics programming.
Its use can replace tensors in representation.
