Answer :
Hindu-Arabic numeral system is the most commonly used numeral system. Two Indian mathematicians, Aryabhatta who developed the place value notation and Brahmagupta a century later introduced the symbol zero, could be given credit for developing this system.

The Hindu-Arabic numeral system is a positional decimal numeral system. The principle of place value and the use of zero made the representation of number and operations easy.
The Roman numerals are also used sometimes. They are a numeral system originated in ancient Rome and adapted from Etruscan numerals.

Roman numeral system is based on certain letters which are given values as numerals. They are now written with letters of the Roman alphabet but they were originally independent symbols. They are occasionally seen in text books, clock faces, building incriptions, in numbered lists (in outline format), chord triads in music analysis, numbering of some annual events, etc.

These are the most widely-used symbols, used in western parts of the Arab world, west of Egypt, in European and Western countries and worldwide. They are known as Arabic numerals, Western numerals, European numerals or digits.
