Question : |
What is 'Waring's Problem' ? |
Answer : |
Waring's problem was first proposed in 1770 by Edward Waring. |
This problem was
first solved by Hilbert in 1909. |
The problem states that, for any integer n, there is an integer
K (n) such that any integer can be represented as the sum of
not more than K(n) numbers, each of which is an nth power
of an integer. Any integer can be represented as the sum of
not more than 4 squares, and as the sum of not more than 9 cubes. |
