What is a 'Transcendental Number' ?

Answer :
A number which is not algebraic is called transcendental.
In other words a transcendental number satisfies no algebraic equation whose coefficients are rational numbers.
For Example,
P and e
The number e was proven to be transcendental by Hermite in 1873, and P by Lindemann in 1882.
The set of transcendental numbers are uncountable.
